An allergy is a type of immune reaction. Normally, the immune system responds to foreign microorganisms or particles by producing specific proteins called anti-bodies. PROMETHAZINE (Phenergan®) is an antihistamine. It relieves moderate to severe allergic reactions, reduces or prevents nausea and vomiting from illness or motion sickness, helps to make you sleep before surgery, and may help with pain relief or nausea after surgery.
MONTELUKAST (Singulair) is used for prevention and long-term treatment of asthma. It is also used to relieve allergy symptoms. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It works by blocking a substance called leukotriene, which helps to decrease certain asthma and allergy symptoms.
