Pain relief drugs produce or complete loss of sensation either in a restricted area (regional and local anaesthetics) or in the whole body (general anaesthetic).
PIROXICAM (Feldene®) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It helps relieves pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
SUMATRIPTAN (Imitrex) is used for the treatment of migraine headaches with or without aura (eg, flashing lights, wavy lines, dark spots). It is also used to treat cluster headaches. Gabapentin is used with other drugs in the treatment of some types of seizures and for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain caused by the herpes virus or shingles).
CARISOPRODOL (Soma) is used for treating discomfort associated with certain painful muscle conditions. It is usually used along with rest and physical therapy. Carisoprodol is a skeletal muscle relaxant. It works in the brain and spinal cord to relax the muscles. It also causes drowsiness.
TRAMADOL (Ralivia ER™, Ralivia™ Flashdose®, Ultram®) is used to treat pain in adults. The medicine is for pain that lasts for more than a few days. The medicine is not for use on an as needed basis.
DICLOFENAC (Voltaren®-XR) is an anti-inflammatory drug. Diclofenac reduces the joint pain, stiffness, inflammation, or swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
